The Springdale Community Association (SCA) serves the residents of Springdale. The SCA was founded in 1969 with its main purpose being a "pressure group" to persuade builders to meet their just and legal commitments. That goal was fulfilled some time ago, and the SCA now provides other services, such as:
Administering and enforcing our covenants and restrictions
Welcoming new neighbors
Organizing special events such as the holiday bonfire and luminary, Easter egg hunt, Annual 5K Classic, and July 4th parade
Sponsoring a scholarship for a Springdale resident who attends Dulaney High School
Publishing a thrice-yearly printed newsletter to inform residents of community events
Printing and distributing a community telephone directory
The current Standing Committees of the Springdale Community Association are: Health & Safety, Communications, Membership, Special Events, and Welcome.
If you have small children, you may be interested in the Springdale Babysitting Co-op: A community of moms who support one another by swapping sits and hospitality, being part of weekday playgroups, participating in family fun events and joining together to support local charitable causes. Families interested in learning more can email.
Things like book clubs and garden groups have also come and go throughout the years, please keep your eye on the newsletter for information, or feel free to start your own club!
Membership in this association is voluntary; the dues are $30 per year. Over 80% of homeowners are members. The association is nonprofit and is governed by the Board of Directors, which is elected during the annual meeting in May. All members serve without compensation. This is truly your community association - it is of, by, and for all homeowners in Springdale. It rightfully deserves your support.
